America's Problem is not Political or even Personal Division, it's the Lack of Using Godly Wisdom
Romans 13:1: "Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."
Dear fellow Substackers (especially those who are followers of Christ,) including those in the world and "all who dwell on earth",
Ironically, the phrase "All who dwell on earth" is a statement from Revelation 13:8-9. It refers to the worship of the "beast" or Antichrist by those whose names are not written in the Book of Life. This is contrasted with the Lamb of God (Jesus Christ), who is worshipped by the "followers of Christ." Just an interesting observation.
Back to my reason and purpose for writing this notice. The title of this Note is "America's Problem is not Political or even Personal Division, it's the Lack of Using Godly Wisdom." The large majority of the public and mainstream media are so focused on Trump and the self-inflicted feud between him and Elon that they are ignoring the far more serious underlying problems America faces.
Sadly, what both of these grown men don't seem to realize is that this public display of foolishness is really sabotaging the far more important promise of a beautiful new "Golden Age for America" and further fueling the hatred and dehumanization of the leftist, democratic apparatus against the Trump administration.
Hence, this Note was written to ALL of humanity, irrespective of whether you are a Democrat or Republican, Christian or Atheist, Buddhist or Hindu, Muslim or Jew, American or Asian, African or European and/or anything in-between.
I must confess that I was inspired (rather let me say "fuelled") by the more recent postings of "political opinion" and "human rhetoric" going on in America right now between President Trump and Elon Musk and the notable responses on social platforms and the mainstream media - both negative and positive to this display of childishness and immature rhetoric, almost like two lovers quarreling.
But instead of judging them or being critical of their more recent actions and behavior, l wish to highlight a far greater problem with this kind of expressions and public feud, and this, l might add, is a problem that l think the vast majority of people both in and outside of America are seemingly ignoring or have chosen to stay silent on. Yet in my opinion, this is where the core problem lies.
Now, l need to be perfectly open and transparent with you, the reader, to my personal Christian 'conservative' beliefs and moral values or you might think l am purely motivated by either judgment, criticism, hatred or political affiliation, and the truth is, l am motivated by neither other than what the Word of God demands or as the Spirit may lead.
These 'points of observation' and opinion that l wish to highlight are motivated by my deep desire to seek and speak the truth and to be a "constructive and objective voice" for change and reflection, especially when the actions of men (and/or women) are not in alignment with either the will of God or the principles of His Word.
I don't care who it is or from what political party you are affiliated with, if you or I are wrong, we must have the ability and the conviction to acknowledge when something is wrong and give credit where credit is due. It pains me to see how such intelligent leaders in both politics and commerce can be this ignorant of the fact that posting their personal feelings and emotions on social media to the world can have devastating consequences on the already fragile instability of domestic as well as international affairs.
That being said, allow me to be honest about my position and opinions. I am a Conservative and believe in the unadulterated truth from God's Word. This implies a conviction that God's revelation is authentic, pure, and without distortion, and that it is the Source of ultimate truth and guidance.
This Christian "conservative" faith in God is the cornerstone of my religious belief, practice, conscience and guides my thoughts and actions in matters of faith, morality, opinion, and understanding of all things in this world.
I am also a sinner saved by Grace. I am not an American, although l love and believe in the American dream as the ideal that "every citizen of the United States," not illegal migrant, convicted alien or foreign criminal, should have an equal opportunity or lawful right to achieve success in the land of liberty and freedom. It is my conviction that both America and any other lands that its citizens may taste prosperity, peace and stability through hard work, determination, and initiatives - ideals that l believe should hold of every American citizen, as a nation under God.
If l were an American, l would have been a Republican, and yes, l would have voted for President Trump. Why? Because my moral compass is guided by the foundation of God's Word. This foundation believes that every human being, from conception to natural death, has inherent dignity and worth following what and how God has created him or her to be.
This belief is based on my understanding that human life is a gift, and that we as a humanity have a responsibility to protect and cherish such human life even during and after birth.
I don’t stand for or believe in anything that is affiliated with this so-called New Age WOKE culture or ideological opinion, narratives, radical extremism or beliefs that support abortion, BLM, LGBTQ+, DEI or Critical Race Theory.
I am, of course, a child of God and a humble servant and disciple of Christ. I am an ordained minister of the Gospel. I am an advocate for restorative justice and social equality. I have over 35 years of corporate and global trade experience, and I have travelled the world, lived and worked in faraway lands such as Japan, Vietnam, America, and Africa.
That being said, allow me to point out my disappointment and disgust at the more recent events regarding the feud between Elon and Trump. There is a much deeper significance to this open display of childishness.
I do believe we should be calling out our leaders to accountability for "fueling the flames of political division." But it is, as one fellow Substacker pointed out, this "unbridled venom and vitriol" that l would like to touch on.
Let me say that l have great respect for both of them, not necessarily for their Godly character but for their abilities and intent to restore common sense into a nation that had gone off the beaten track. There is no doubt about President Trump's absolute commitment to the nation of America. He loves the country and its people; that is undeniable.
Furthermore, he is willing to do whatever it takes to create and shape the country in a way that he believes is more in line with the original values and moral principles of its forefathers - which laws and statutes l might add are enshrined in the American Constitution, as well as the First and Second Amendments. For this alone, l commend him and am willing to support him.
However, to come back to the lack of moral principle and Godly wisdom (and that applies to both of them), I have some major concerns. I'm not only concerned, l'm deeply perplexed, because it goes to show that neither of these two gentlemen is being led by the "Spirit" but rather by the "flesh." And herein lies the ultimate problem.
When you or l are being led by the Spirit of God, we will naturally be able to count our words, reflect on our actions and behaviour even before we act or react. When we are being led by the "flesh," our thoughts, actions and behavior are entirely controlled by our self-interest on this earth.
We cannot claim to be using Godly discernment when we don't have the Spirit of God living in us. The Bible is clear: "deep cries unto deep." Scripture demands that we walk in the Spirit, as denoted in Galatians 5:16: "I say then, walk in the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." This verse doesn't simply suggest it as a good idea, but states it as a necessary course of action to avoid being led astray by our selfish desires, or to avoid walking on the side of evil.
I pray, therefore, for both of these honorable gentlemen to use discernment and to think about the bigger picture here in play.
In God's love and respect,
Pastor Mike V.D. Gobel Sr.
